Kate + Claire

Just a stone's throw from the rugged North Cornish coastline you'll find Ynk.
​Nestled in the middle of our ancient village just outside of Bude, Cornwall is a little home studio. Inside you will find a beautiful vintage letterpress, a hand operated foil press, stacks of beautiful hand-selected paper and rows of inks in a spectrum of colours. 
All of our products are lovingly designed and printed by us, in our little studio. Each item finished by hand. Each and every Ynk print is unique, individually printed and freshly pressed just for you.

 

Ynk is owned and entirely run by Kate and Claire. Sister in laws and best friends, they share a love for old fashioned stationary, proper post and all things letterpress.

Previously a designer and curator for Ling Design, Claire has a strong background in typography and graphic design. Her cards have featured in high street favourites such as WH Smith, M&S and John Lewis. Starting her career in Bath, Claire moved to Cornwall fifteen years ago with her husband Rob to bring up their three girls.

Since moving to Cornwall, Claire has become a sought after freelance designer helping companies with everything from packaging to branding, product launches to event planning.

Born and bred in Cornwall, Kate has grown up on the beaches, in the fields, drawing, doodling, designing and painting by the sea. With a background in management and accounts, Kate loves the mathematical side of letterpress printing and type design. Kate's flare for illustration and love of pen and ink lends itself perfectly to the old fashioned printing process, while her background in business and accounting means that nothing needs to be outsourced.
